Light Assembly of framed art in a production environment. Repetitive activities throughout the day. Job assignments vary daily/weekly.
Essential Tasks/Functions - Jobs within operation may require anywhere from a few to as many as all of the following:
Provided with fabricated materials, uses commercial saws to cut the glass or Plexiglass, cuts the wood/metal molding for picture frames and joins the pieces together to produce a frame, “fits” the artwork into the frame, cleans the glazing and prepares the finished product for delivery to the client. Other duties may include packaging frames in shipping boxes.
Assures that all artwork and work in progress is handled properly and safely, is never left unprotected and is stored for safekeeping before leaving at the end of the day. Performs assigned clean up chores nightly before leaving.
The fitter is the last person to do a final check of the artwork. This person must inspect the finished frame to assure that the framing conforms to all written specifications.
